Recently I had a lovely work experience student, Albie Jones, in my office. Here are his words:
Over the last week I have learnt a lot about what work is like in an electorate office, and about work in general. Coming into work experience, I had no experience of working in an office setting, making my time in the electorate office an eye-opening and interesting experience. I became acquainted with the technology used in the office, from using campaign central to discovering entire Microsoft word features I previously had no idea existed. I especially enjoyed my visit to state parliament, where I got to see question time up‑close, and quickly came to understand why they call it the bear pit. It was great to see such lively debate regarding the important issues we face as a state, even when things got a little intense. Doing work experience at the electorate office has undoubtedly been time well-spent and a fascinating experience, and my only source of disappointment is that it only lasted one week. Thank you to Trish and everyone at the electorate office who made this experience possible.
