Ms TRISH DOYLE (Blue Mountains) (19:56): At the end of August the Winter Magic Revival Festival was held in Katoomba. It was an energetic weekend of music and performance, workshops and light projections, showcasing the vibrancy and talent that our local region has to offer. The last few years have been tough ones, especially for my community in the Blue Mountains. Where we live is a unique place set amongst breathtakingly beautiful World Heritage-listed natural landscapes. We rely heavily on a tourism-, hospitality- and arts‑based economy, but with the unrelenting challenges of fire, floods and COVID, our community has suffered significantly, and in some cases those losses will not be recovered. With Winter Magic Revival came a ray of hope and the inspiration to keep moving ahead. To the Winter Magic Revival committee, Greg McManus, Willem Hendriksen, Prakesh Shrestah, Hereward Dundas-Taylor, Alex Carey, Adrian Hastings, Dee, Bette Mifsud, Zoe Wood, Jodee Knowles and over 100 amazing volunteers who gave of their time at the festival, our community thanks you for your vision, your dedication and your tireless hard work.
