I want to take a moment to recognise the incredible dedication of Blue Mountains residents who, 60 years ago, founded the Leura Gardens Festival. Since then, they’ve raised over $3 million for our local hospital and health-related charities by sharing Leura’s stunning spring gardens.

A special thanks to John and Margot Egan, who have generously opened their garden, The Braes, for many years, and to the more than 200 volunteers, as well as our local partners; Bendigo Bank, Katoomba RSL, Fairmont Resort, McGrath Wentworth Falls, and many others.

With more than 7,000 tickets sold and over 21,000 garden visits each year, this festival now extends to Wentworth Falls and continues to support vital health services in our community. Recent funding has supported critical equipment for Katoomba’s obstetrics unit, as well as financial aid for cancer patients and scholarships for aspiring medical students.

This is a true reflection of our Mountains spirit of volunteering and caring for one another. Mark your calendars, your support makes a real difference.
