I had the great privilege of being the emcee at the RFS Women and Girls in Rural Firefighting forum on Saturday 7 March. I acknowledge Michelle, Geri and Chris, who helped organise this event, and all of the firefighters who ran equipment drills, took photographs, organised kids' activities and welcomed members of the community to learn a little more about their local brigades in the Blue Mountains. I also thank Mick Starkey, who liaised with me. We heard from new members Lucy, Cate, Louise, Gracie and Melissa. There was a panel on women in leadership in the RFS, where we heard from Beth Raines, Deb Pinfold, Fiona Stalgis and Susie McGregor. The forum finished off with a panel discussion with Jane, Cass, Regina and Tova, who talked about their specialist roles. I congratulate them all.
