On Sunday 16 November nearly 400 cyclists rode the iconic and stunning Bells Line of Road and Darling Causeway with no through traffic. Those cyclists got to enjoy a stunning route through the Blue Mountains of New South Wales whilst raising funds and awareness for mental health, working with Lifeline as a charity partner. Go For Broke's VIC100 is a new charity cycle event. It is a 100 kilometre cycle event from Penrith to Mount Victoria. At the core of the event is supporting and raising funds for Lifeline. The founder, Ed Kirk, started Go For Broke in 2016 after his own battle with mental health. I thank the police, NSW Ambulance, Transport for NSW, St John Ambulance and the many Go For Broke volunteers who all contributed to making this incredible, well-organised event a success. It was great to be in the historic village of Mount Victoria to welcome the cyclists at the finish line at the 157-year-old Victoria and Albert Guesthouse. I congratulate them all.
