Blue Mountains sports have shared in $4.4 million in NSW Government funding following the awarding of grants in the Local Sport Grant Program.
The Program provides up to up to $20,000 to individual clubs and associations with $50,000 available in each electorate to increase participation in community sport with 579 projects awarded funding in this year’s program.
9 projects were awarded funding in the Blue Mountains for new equipment, programs and facilities valued at $50,0000.
Some projects to receive funding include:
- Blaxland Warrimoo Netball Club – Upgrade of player and coaching equipment
- Blue Mountains Roller Derby League – Roller derby advance skills weekend workshop
- Dragons Abreast Blue Mountains Inc – Equipment purchase
- Hazelbrook Football Club – Coaching and equipment upgrade and Ditch the White Shorts
- Mountain Archers Archery Club – Extra targets availability
- Springwood Country Club – Purchase of golf equipment for use by women and children
- Winmalee Netball Club – Spring Twighlight 2024
